How to Get Started

Ready to give coaching a try?
Here’s all you have to do:

Complimentary Session

The best way to understand the value and benefits of coaching is to experience it personally. Until you've had the experience of coaching, it may remain a concept in your mind. Rodger Blaker will offer a complimentary session to anyone investigating coaching as a profession, as a potential client or just for curiosity's sake. There will be no hard sell at the end of the call—coaching sells itself.

To schedule a complimentary session, simply e-mail rodger@rodgerblaker.com or call 214-485-2238.

Once the session is scheduled, please print and complete the following form before your appointment. Prepare to be challenged and to have fun.

What Next?

At the end of your complimentary session, if you and Rodger agree that you form a quality partnership, you will schedule a time to meet and work through the intake session. After the intake session you and Rodger will determine a scheduled date and time to meet each week that works for both of you to continue your coaching experience. You will meet either 3 or 4 times a month, depending on the program you choose.

Intake Session

Each coaching partnership begins with a 2–3 hour Intake Session. If both coach and client live in the same geographic area then this session is conducted in person.

Otherwise, communication is via telephone which is very effective and just as powerful as face-to-face coaching sessions. Welcome Package forms are reviewed and clarified so that both coach and client are clear about where the client is in their life and where they want to be. Each area of the client's life is explored: career, education, health, family, friends, spirituality, recreation, finances, values, vision, habits, what's working and what's not. Strategies and timelines are discussed and an initial agenda is set. While the Intake Session is designed as more of a "discovery session", coaching begins here, and clients often leave the session with commitments and action steps.
